Evaluation question two

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

First of all, here are all three of my products:

There are many parts to our video which are either in a washed out white style or in black and white, and this links in with my digipak, which is all in black and white. Red connotes danger, a feeling that we tried to reflect throughout the video though the use of effects that make reality seem skewed, and show that she is in fact in a dream. The theme of love is also used in both the digipak, with the two hands, and the video, where it is sisterly love, shown through the hug, and the emotional ending. To make the two print products look the same, I used black writing in the same font on both. I also used the theme of playing cards, which links back to Alice in Wonderland, one of the main inspirations for our video. The font I used was clipper, and on the advert I used it bolded, which looks like this:

Brand identity is very important for bands/artists who want to distinguish themselves in such a competitive market. If their style is not distinct enough, then they will just become another namesless band or artist.  For this reason, bands and artists have their own style and stick with it throughout their album art, promotion and music videos. This is called a house style. For example, Two Door Cinema Club have a distinct style.

Here we can see that they have a cohesive style throughout all of their products.

I asked questions on my facebook group relating to the products made, and overall they said that the products did seem like a cohesive piece, and worked together well. I think that my products are successful as a whole, though the advert could look a bit more like the other two pieces.
